Here is a great video to watch telling you what
selling Usborne Books is all about. It was shot in England and you'll
notice a couple of differences.
The consultants are called "organizers" overseas
but otherwise, what we do is basically the same - same trips, same
markets. After the video, I've included additional information on this
page to help answer any questions you might have.
Marketing Plans and Commissions
There are an several marketing plans within
Usborne Books and More to take advantage of. Here is a brief look at
them.
Home Shows: Commission 25%
The home office pays for all of the hostess
benefit books and is very generous with other books that you can choose
to purchase at a reduced rate to give your Hostesses as a Thank You for
hosting a party.
Book parties are fun and easy - who wouldn't
love an evening feature these great books. I love that I can help
parents choose books that will encourage their children to develop a
love for learning. An average home show is $400 so for one night's
work, you may take home an average of $100.
You'd have to work over 12 hours at a local
bookstore to make this much money. And you have to work on someone
else's schedule. Why not try a business where you can work less, make
more and spend more time with your family?
Direct Sales: Commission 15% or 30%
This is selling books directly to individuals.
I group my direct sales together and place
them at once to maximize my commission. Providing good customer service
will increase your sales in this area and provide a base for your
business as children grow and their parents need to continuously update
their libraries and buy birthday and Christmas presents.
Book Fairs and Booths: Commission 17%
Whether you set up a display where parents and
teachers can select books or send home a marketing flyer or catalog
home with each student, schools earn $.50 in books for every $1.00 sold
when total sales exceed $500. You'll make 17% commission. What a great
way to get books into schools at a time when budgets are tight.
Library and School Sales Commission: Variable
Become an Educational Consultant and you can
work with schools and libraries in your community and you can earn
money on your school sales. We also have an incredible Reading
Incentive Program that puts 1000's of dollars of books into the hands
of students, librarians and teachers.
One of our strongest programs is our Literacy
for a Lifetime program that matches grants 50% when the grant money is
used to purchase Usborne and Kane Miller books.
Build a team! (Ask a friend to join the
fun!)
You can see that you don't need to have one
person join your team but it sure is fun to work with friends. You'll
make a small percentage of the sales of the people who sign up with
you. Think of it as a management bonus. It's the company's way of
paying you to help train new people. (As consultants, we don't receive
big "finders fees" and are not paid directly when people decide to
start their own business. That keep expenses down for you and keeps
everything at the highest level of ethics.)
What a great opportunity for anyone who loves
books to add money each month to their monthly budget.
Decide for yourself if this is
right for you.
This is just a basic overview of the ways that you
can earn money with Usborne Books and More. The great thing about
Direct Sales is that you can tailor your business to fit your goals and
your schedule. Just remember that the more you invest in your Usborne
business the greater returns you'll receive.
One show or event a week makes a great hobby and
will make about $400 a month for you. If you have time and want to be
more serious, 2-3 shows or events a week can mean $800 - $1500 of
income per month.
And if you build a team, your income can grow
really quickly. Some of our biggest team leaders who have been with the
company 15 years make over $10,000 a month. Working 15-20 hours a week
with their families. The potential for you is unlimited.
As you are thinking of whether or not this
opportunity is for you, think of the following:
